Jae VanDerWielen - Bio
Jae VanDerWielen is currently a high school senior enrolled in the International Baccalaureate, Long Trail School (LTS) in Dorset, Vermont. She is originally from Newburyport, Massachusetts, where she was introduced to musical theatre through Anna Smulowitz Productions at the Firehouse Center for the Arts. Soon after, Jae studied weekends & summers at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick Massachusetts for musical theatre. Along with her passion for singing, she started by playing the trombone, later trumpet, french horn, guitar and ukulele. Throughout junior high school, Jae participated in both concert and jazz band singing as a featured soloist. When Jae moved to Vermont, she began to concentrate more on music, through her love of her new music classes, and musical theatre, at the Long Trail School. Jae currently performs as a featured vocal soloist during school assemblies, the IB band, and in the school's theatre program. Jae has recently been introduced to the world of writing her own music, and has written a string quartet "White Elk" and an orchestral piece "Lilac: A Walk Through the Boston Common." Jae is the lead vocalist in the band Kent Hill; a student rock/funk/jazz cover band. Jae recently was accepted to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts for Fall 2020.

In addition to her performing, composing & recording activities, she's also Head Delegate & Secretary General for the LTS Model United Nations team as well as a varsity player on the LTS Ultimate Frisbee team. She also works as a server at The Marble West Inn, Dorset, Vermont on weekends.
